'The Colours of Expression'
Gallery One, The Horsebridge Arts Centre, Whitstable, Kent CT5 1AF, UK
5 - 16 December 2019
Colour - to what extent does it reflect and affect our mood? How do we respond to positive versus negative emotions? These themes are explored in this exhibition.
Colour is at the heart of this exhibition as it examines the extent to which colour reflects and affects our emotional life. Living on the English coast, I am fascinated by how often the sea reflects my mood back to me and so the exhibition includes a series of seascapes in expected and unexpected colours, reflecting different moods. From this develops an examination of our internal seascapes with colour-charged paintings exploring how we see ourselves.
The exhibition will also include the Colour Potential Card Deck.
Sat 7 Dec 2:30pm: An illustrated talk entitled ‘Emotion and the Baroque – an examination of the power of expression in Baroque art’. Free Admission.
Sat 14 Dec 2:30pm: A workshop exploring The Colour Potential Card
Deck combining the power of colour with the power of positivity. Free Admission.

Loving Leaf!
Pop-Up Exhibition at the Linden Hall Studio, 32 St George's Road, Deal, Kent CT14 6BA
23-26 April 2020
During the past year I have
fallen in love with metal leaf, gilding the canvas with gold, silver, copper
and even variegated leaf. Once sealed onto the canvas, the leaf provides a
thrilling, glowing base for the paint as it glints between the brush marks. But
the real glory is how the paint feels as it touches the leaf. The entrancing colours
glide along as if painted on silk.
This Pop-Up exhibition is a celebration of the glories of metal and water with sea-inspired paintings on metal leaf in a variety of themed colours.
